Your key should insert all the way and turn 180 degrees smoothly. If it only turns 90 degrees or you can't insert the key all the way, take a look at the cylinder to make sure that all the discs are aligned. You can align the discs with a small flathead screwdriver or anything thin enough to fit in.You can also use your key by turning it back and forth to align the discs. Once you push the disc back into place, your key should insert fully and turn 180 degrees.
You can also try using lubrication, such as Finish Line, in the keyway to flush out any dirt or debris.
If these do not work, submit a ticket with a picture of the entire lock and keys.

I've got a jammed (key stucked) KRYPTONITE Evolution Mini 7 lock. It's about 18 months old and barely used. I can't see any "discs".

I have a different lock, but like you, I could not see "disks", perhaps because the bike was locked in a place without proper lighting. I put a small screwdriver into the most proximal part (where the key inserts) and turned. I did not need to force anything. Once I did this my key worked again.
I should have said that I turned the screwdriver and felt things move. Again, no serious force applied, and I'm not sure what I really did because I was doing this without vision. By the way, this success still came after suffering serious frustration and inconvenience the night before when I could not unlock the bike. So I'm happy about the outcome but frustrated with the problem and Kryptonite.
I have a Kryptonite New York lock that doesn't separate easily. I got it about 8 months ago on ebay. The key inserts fully and it turns 180 degrees but the lock does not come apart easily. I am worried about using it any more because I don't want to lock my bike someplace and then not be able to get the lock open.
What can I do to solve this problem?
My key had been sticky and would not turn 180, but after a few tries it would so I thought it was just wearing out until one day it just would not lock and then the key broke in the lock and cannot get it out. Please advise. It is a Mini U lock, it's about 4 or 5 years old so I do not remember the model. I wish I read the above FAQ before it got to this point. Ive tried to get the key part out but its pretty well wedged in there.
